Welcome to my Notebook —
In which I pen a letter to the springtime. A season of duality :: of sunshine days and crisp evenings. And of tilling the soil anew for seasons still to come 🌷
Dearest Spring,
You come with arms full of tulips and flannel flowers too. Dressed in lace and pearls and iridescent jewels.
Your air is fresh. But your sun is bright as your tones of pink and white.
To me, you smell of fresh cut lavender and freshly baked bread. You are all rosy cheeks and hidden treasures. The quiet joy of a single bloom and the promise of all that lies ahead.
Enchanté!

Lines Written in Early Spring
1798
‘Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And ’tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.’
