Welcome to my Notebook—
I have been really drawn to the colour red recently. In the LA-based artist Cheryl Humphreys’ beautiful work Spectral Meditations for Healing {pictured above}, she describes this shade as ‘the great energiser’. And points out that it is always at the top of the rainbow.
I have personally been seeing rainbows everywhere lately — both literally and figuratively. I have seen them in the sky and have also been noticing the rainbows in everyday life. Like the rainbows of our jewellery and clothing. Those we eat with each new season or fill our homes with each year. And, of course, the rainbows that we paint with words.
Red, in particular, has been capturing my attention of late. And with the world weighing heavy on our hearts right now, it feels like this might just be the time that we need the great energiser most.
Sending so much love !!

‘I have always possessed a kind of knapsack, if nothing more than a piece of cloth of skin tied in a knot. My sack, worthy companion, produces, when opened, a world defined by its contents – fluxion, unique, beloved…
I had a ruby. Imperfect, beautiful like faceted blood. It came from India where they wash up on the shore.’
